Hackathons invite students to engage in the design thinking process and work together in teams to propose solutions to real-world problems. Design thinking is a powerful way to develop solutions to complex problems in innovative, even sometimes radical ways. JASON Learning and STEM Connector offer a series of Design Thinking Challenges that involve students in real-world problems and encourage community engagement. JASON is a free resource for Austin, Bastrop, Del Valle, Georgetown, Hays Consolidated, Lago Vista, Leander, Pflugerville, and Round Rock. Experience Design Thinking for yourself and explore ways to integrate this into the student experience on both classroom and community levels. Laptops recommended.
