This session will share how Thinkery’s signature EdExchange program empowers Austin public school teachers to learn and leverage design thinking to equip students with the process skills necessary to engage academic content knowledge. The session will begin with an overview of EdExchange, participants will then go through a hands-on workshop on the design process and how to integrate it into their classrooms led by two Austin ISD teachers. Participants will then create a puppet or contraption using recycled materials. Participants will also reflect as a group and brainstorm ways to integrate into their academic content. EdExchange alum will share their classroom experiences.
