Water-Quality Testing with AYRW: Let’s Have Class Outside!

Try your hands at water-quality testing at nearby Blunn Creek, just like our River Watchers! AYRW provides an out-of-school time environmental STEM program primarily to at-risk high school students. They collect, analyze, and publish water-quality data for local agencies; perform restoration projects with community partners; and experience outdoor adventures through activities like camping and canoeing.This session will include: an overview of the program (history, goals, activities, and accomplishments), a 15-min hike to Blunn Creek Nature Preserve, water-quality testing at the creek, completing a data sheet, and a hike back to campus. All testing materials will be provided. Limited space: Up to 15 people.
