What are they thinking?! This presentation is intended for K-5 educators interested in learning more about using math reasoning screeners as formative and summative assessment tools to evaluate and understand student thinking and to inform instruction. We will give an overview of several free math reasoning screeners available for teacher use and share the nuts and bolts of how we implemented a selected math reasoning screener for the first time in the 2017-2018 school year. Attendees will leave with a roadmap for implementing math screeners in their classrooms or campuses along with access to online resources for getting started. Interactive PowerPoint presentation with handout resources; participant technology optional.
