How can we encourage our students to engage in creative problem-solving? Join Katie Henry M.Ed. for a hands-on workshop where you will design and build robots with the Hummingbird Robotics Kit. Researched and developed through Carnegie Mellon University, the Hummingbird is a flexible building kit designed to seamless weave creative problem-solving and computer science concepts into ANY classroom through creativity and endless reusability. The kit is composed of lights, sensors, and motors that can be programmed using any laptop, chromebook, or tablet, allowing students to build a robot out of any material. Each participant will receive a kit to take back to the classroom! Geared toward teachers for grades 4-12, in any content area; participants should bring laptops, though we will have a few available. Separate pre-registration required for PreCon sessions; register at http://bit.ly/asmxcon18_attend **Open to AISD staff only.
