Focusing on Growth Mindsets, this session will employ several innovative facilitation strategies to powerfully engage each attendee in listening and speaking in order to clarify misconceptions about Growth Mindsets and to learn strategies to foster Growth Mindsets in students and colleagues.  The session arises out of an NSF-funded comprehensive program of change called PAGE.  PAGE takes teams of strategically placed individuals within schools and districts and prepares them to work with their students and colleagues to enact social change within their institution, making it a more inclusive environment in which to learn, engage in, and identify with STEM. During the session, Liesl will employ several innovative facilitation strategies including: (1) practicing growth mindsets, (2) enacting group norms, (3) using a talking stick in dyads, (4) using the Art of the Focused Conversation question cycle, and (5) Talking Token group conversations.
