Austin, TX
I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and express my excitement about presenting at the ASMX Conference this year. I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Master's in Interdisciplinary Education. GO GATORS! I will be starting my 15th year of teaching. I have received several honors during my teaching career. I was 2008 – 2009 Teacher of the Year for J.L. Matthey Middle School in San Antonio, TX and 2013 – 2014 Teacher of the Year for Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock, TX. I was also recognized as an Educator of Excellence by the Young Women's Prepatory Network of TX. I have participated in an Engineering Fellowship at the University of Texas as part of the NASCENT program in the Summer of 2015 and 2016. I return every summer as a Master Teacher, helping other teachers develop projects based on research. I am an avid reader of all genres and love to hike and kayak on the weekends with my 1.5 corgis, Enzo and Jules. I will be teaching Algebra 1 (7/8), Pre-Algebra (8), Engineering Design and Problem Solving (12), coaching JV Soccer and co-sponsoring GSA.
