Shelley grew up in Houston, Texas, graduating from Bellaire High School. She attended the University of Texas at Austin and received her B.S. in Education. She later attended the Lawyer's Assistant Program at Southwest Texas State University and after graduation, was a legal assistant for 12 years working in the area of commercial and personal injury litigation. Shelley returned to graduate school at the University of Houston and received an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in Instructional Technology. She taught kindergarten, 2nd grade, computer and served as the technology coordinator at two private schools in Houston for 8 years. After returning to Austin in 2005, Shelley worked as a consultant to Region XIII for the Target Grant Program, helping 8th grade history teachers integrate technology into their curriculum. She has presented at local, state, and national technology conferences in the area of technology integration and primary school technology. As a Technology Design Coach at Austin ISD, she has a variety of duties including working with teachers to integrate technology into their curriculum. After hours, she enjoys working out at the gym, reading, hiking, traveling, baking, and watching movies with her husband, Randy and their three cats, Max, Loulou and Mama.
